| From Simple
Beginnings to Complex Solutions . . . .
Allied traces its origins to a premier engineering consulting
firm in Wichita, Kansas. In the late 1980s, the firm noticed
increasing requests for environmental services from their clients.
To meet these requests, the firm formed an environmental department
in 1989 by hiring a small number of highly experienced professionals.
The service records of these early employees represented a
collective 135 years of experience in diverse areas of groundwater
remediation, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering,
civil engineering / construction, manufacturing, and environmental
property assessments.
In 1993, the engineering firm developed the department into
a wholly owned subsidiary, officially calling the new company
Allied Environmental Consultants, Incorporated. The new company
achieved success in the early 1990s by procuring a hazardous
waste management and safety contract with Boeing on chemical
process line demolition projects. Allied distinguished itself
in the area of solid waste management, when it consulted on
and prepared some of the first regional solid waste management
plans accepted by the State of Kansas. Another early success
came when an international container corporation selected Allied
to consult on a Superfund site located in South Central Kansas.
Between 1993 and 1997, Allied added services related to the
Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Oil Pollution Prevention Act.
The engineering firm sold the company to the current employees
in 1997.
Allied is managed
by a Board of Directors, all of which are professional engineers
or professional geologists. We maintain
an open business culture that allows every employee the opportunity
to “know the numbers,” finding that this results
in keeping our overhead low and our projects on track. Finally,
our vision and principals have successfully resulted in a large
group of loyal clients who know that we are only a phone call
away and always ready to respond to their needs.
